PC freezes when i open dvd drive?

I have this very weird problem that is driving me crazy. Whenever I try to open the DVD drive tray, the pc freezes and I have to reset the pc. My PC runs great all the time and is completely virus, spyware and malware free. Anybody else had this problem and solved it?

Could be a problem with device drivers , hardware or software . This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html
I have got a feeling whoever installed the dvd drive

has either [1] %26gt;Wrongly Set the dvd drive as a slave device ,the dvd drive should be configured as a master device if it is connected solo on the secondary ide cable [and also via the jumper positioning on the back of the dvd device]

[2]%26gt;The bios Page option for this isnt set or configured properly,

I personally think its the 1st one that is the cause

of the problem.

However the hardware inside the pc case should not be Tampered with or re-configured
