What is adware BHO?abtuvurys 2005
BHO = Browser Helper Object
Most are good, some are not. A malicious BHO could possibly divert your browser to an unwanted page instead of the one you want! This COULD possibly infect your puter, track what you do on the net in order to send you spam or worse!
BTW: Anti-Spyware programs Such as AVG Anti-Spy or BETTER yet, Spybot Search %26 Destroy, scan for *SPYWARE*, _NOT_ virii. Anti-Virus programs scan for virii. Therefore you WANT an anti-virus program to scan for viruses. A free one that is MUCH better than AVG _EVER_ was is Avast AV.
Get it here:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...
While it is free, you do have to "Register" it. It's no big deal to do.
I hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

Hi,
BHO stands for Browser handling object, this is something that controls the browser or is used as an addon to the browser ( for e.g. the yahoo toolbar) and you don't really need it. I would recommend getting rid of it.
Regarding the second part of your question you scan for viruses with AVG free AVG spyware scans only for spyware.
Hope this helps............
Cheers
A BHO is a Browser Helper Object - such as an icon in your menus or a toolbar. Many spyware companies use these toolbars to disguise their spyware trash as a useable tool.
Some of them are less obvious - but in the end - a BHO is a helper object. There are good and bad ones.
Best of luck.
