Do i need windows security centre?free adware remover

Yes. Do not disable the software. If you need, I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

Keep it, mate, it won't clash.
i thought windows security siute is not a security siute but takes over the running of the security on you puter so i would say leave it on as it disables your anti virus and firewall if you turn it off i have all the same stuff you downloaded and me computer is running clean so leave it on
You don't have any option about downloading Security Centre when you upgrade windows to SP2. Windows firewall is not very good though,so I would suggest that you switch this off and use the ZoneAlarm one. Not yet figured out how to avoid the nagging red shield from Windows, though I'm sure it must be possible to set this.
first of AVG is lame, and zonealarm is only good if you don't have the trial version. If you do have proper versions, you can turn off the windows security centre. most GOOD antivirus and firewall programs actually disable security centre automatically. you can also use registry editors and windows 'tweakers' to turn of the reminders etc.

hope that helps
