hey dude dont listen to anyone..i was in the same situation as you.i wanted a good antivirus for free.so ive downloaded the latest version of norton,it was only a trial version..i dont undermine its effectiveness but gosh this damn software would take yrs to load,it slowed down my pc..then i removed it and finally install AVG,its free n good too,really.since ive installed it i havent got any problems concerning viruses,worms etc..

As for spyware ,try 'Ad-Adware SE Personal' its free n really good..Good luck dude
www.spywarebot.com is completely free and has never caused me any problems where I have gone out and bought programs and they caused me so many problems I had to delete them. Good luck!
